Hi studio and all...

well I really dont know what to say...
Hope this one isnt too lengthy..and with nothing at all in it..=(

All I have tried in all years..is to be nice and also helpful as much as I can and at times when I can...=(

You still after all this time, cant even care to learn my real name...
you keep on saying Steph....eventhough I left many options up, since I put my full name and my online nick, in all my posts.and eventhough I pointed out how important that is to me. ! =(

Then you bash out on, even after I have explained that I really have wanted to make a REAL Tutorial on all this Char Anim stuff that I have learned and found out over the years, (also on many other stuff), since a long time... but havent yet, since my life really is a horrible mess...and I dont hardly have energy at all... =( and I dont know when it will brighten up.. if ever.. =(

It doesnt make things better that when trying to just take some few steps to get started to share some..., to get it all thrown in the face...

btw.. did you even bother to load in the prj files, one of them had some docs in the actual prj file in RS.. ? If you did.. did you think it was not good enough..? all of it? or what parts ? Did you study any of the prjs, and look abit on them to try to see what the keys to them could be? and after that ask some more specific questions about it..to better understand it.. Why didnt you enter the threads, both mine and Matthias, and just asked something?, instead of stepping in on my post with the anims... Is it better for you that nothing is shared, just cause not everything has a step by step guide ?

Must all things that is shared or talked about on the list be in such a way that everyone at all time gets everything ? Or should we all just take it as a good thing that something is actually shared?, and just snap up the things and pieces that we can use and skip the rest (or ask the poster, in a friendly way, if he/she could help out some more on some parts of it, that we dont understand or need more info about..)

There are many times topics on the list are things I dont care at all about, or that I dont understand (some VSL stuff comes to mind..), but either I just skip it,or some I look at and test, and some I ask some more questions to the poster..and some I leave for another day, when hopefully I get more experience so I actually do understand what those posts where all about and then I can use the info in it..!

Cant just things that is being shared, no matter what it is.. a cool image, some workflows in an anim..some prj files.. or whatever.. be seen at times as just inspiration..and just get others an idea that this and that actually IS possible in RS, which then leads you to try to figure it out...

I am always looking on other sw tuts or online articles or whatever I am intrested in, and then my mind thinks abit how this actaully can be done..in a RS specific way...or in my own way.. So at time one really needs to try to figure somethings out..(that is one of my own inspirations.. to find my OWN solutions on things I want to be able to do in RS, thats why I have made tons of workarounds for stuff over the years.. I especially loved those days when the list was very active and ppl always asked alot of questions.. or had threads going on with cool ideas.. which made my inspiration flow..=)

I think what you are doing can really make the sharing of stuff, to decrease.. =(

For ppl to feel encouraged to share ANY thing, then a good and friendly atmosphere is needed, so the whole range from very simple to ultra advanced, as well as not documented to Fully documented stuff, could be shared...

Every extreme seems hard to handle..
Since.. some users can think, this prj of mine or this idea or tip, or workflow of mine is toooooo simple, or just nothing new, so I better not share it..

Others can on the other extreme...hmm.. maybe this is just too much, too advanced.. too little documented.. too showy...Its better that I dont share this..

Any of this should be able to be shared..and anything that is shared, no matter how simple or advanced it is.. has always things in them that are golden..to someone..!

Hopefully I will continue to share..but this really has got me thinking.. =(..

Take Care
Best Regards

Hi Beg-inner,
There is 2 problems on this list: -The list is divided in 2 groups : ultra beginners and experts (geeks that are more programmers than 3D artist) -Because Realsoft has a button or a function for everything, it makes the mind lazy.

My point is that with very simple 3D software without any special function other than moving keyframe on the timeline, basic modeling and creating materials with check boxes and sliders, you don't get that kind of problem. Why, because there is no complex function to automate the process, so just by observing the work of other you can replicate it.

Automated function, like in Windows makes users becomes more and more ignorant, because they loose their ability to think by themselves.
And automated functions hide what is really going on.
Like I said many times : You don't need all those fancy features because you can do them all by hand. If the animation is not to your liking animate frame by frame. Model point by point, Make your material in Photoshop, Do adjustements in photoshop on the final render. Attach the point to the bone point by point. Animate physic by hand. Do it manually.

Note : Scripting, Automated Rigging, Multi UV map, Complex shaders, Automatic Walk, batch rendering, Constraint were all made for Big studios, not for 3D artists. They are made for big production, And I don't think anyone on this list will ever animate more than 10 minutes of video.

From what I have seen elsewhere (other simpler or limited 3D app) the beginners are doing much more impressive stuff with simpler software and faster.

If I was responsible of the desing of Realsoft I would cut the features in half. And I think that instead of people asking what is the magic script to do this and that, we would see people actually doing stuff, not thinking about how to do it, but doing it right away.

Sometimes this list is look like the developer list of AmigaIntent : people are talking about the software but never really using it for a goal. Realsoft users are trying every feature of the software instead of doing a project of their own.

In short : don't rely on automated features, the time it takes to find out how that feature is working it's the time it takes to do it manually.

Next time, if you see an animation on this list, don't ask how to do it in Realsoft with the automated fuction. Just do it manually like you would when your wife has a bad headache.

Don't take this too seriously : )
