Hi matthias : Man , you sound kind'a bitter , but I totally understand how you must have felt when V6 was such a huge let down for you in specific areas , when you thought it is the solution.
However , as Vesa has said , SP1 will be a quick release and the more exact info he gets sent to him the more fixes it will contain . I think you're going to have to suck it up , just one more time , and then wait for SP1 , before you will be thrilled . I also ask the question "why did the testers not find this?" , but the truth is , RS is just so damn vast that it's easy to miss certain bugs , and also easy to over- look the obvious . Best way with RS is always to just make a one-on-one contact with Vesa or Juha and get a dialogue going on specific stuff . I think they are much happier doing exact coding for us , than working on advanced con- cepts for the masses (I'm just guessing) . If you're like me , then you hate to bother them . Of course they are busy , but sometimes it is better to ask in private , then create a great animation as a way of saying "Thanks!" . garry Hi Vesa, I've no problem with tweaking, rewriting my VSL shaders. But the Javascript should and must work in my opinion, why is the simple "Change color with time" scene not in the samples, did you know about the strange behaviour of Javascript? I'll not rewrite my scenes in total to benefit from v6. In v5 Javascript was the last chance to get some animations working as exspected, this door is closed at the moment in v6 :-( (Should I fiddle out a new door) Maybe RS needs more betatesters, especially to test the animation system. For me it was a very unhappy moment to install v6 and the only things I've seen where different render results and Javascript error windows :-( One (of many) QT left: How to highlight binded points? (Wasn't it possible to integrate Carlo's SkinManager?) Same procedure as every new Version :-? hmmmm, ok: I'll try my very best to get it working ;-) Matthias ----- Original Message ----- From: Vesa Meskanen To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, December 21, 2007 7:57 AM Subject: Re: RS3d-6 Hello, Matthias simply opened an old scene, and pressed 0 to render. As usual, the really intensive testing starts after the public release - 10 times more OS / processor / drisplay driver combinations become tested right away. A service pack will be released in the near future, to address the reported problems. I have some suggestions / questions: - Does both versions (64 and 32 bit) have the mentioned problems? - Try switching view window / View properties / Draw tab / Canvas to Windows GDI. Does the rendering still crash? - Does the crash happen on all scenes ( a single test object ) or with a particular scene only? If the crash is related to all view modes and only to a particular scene, please send me a test file. The bug will be fixed immediately. Also, please send an exact error report about js problems to us. Then we can ensure that everything will work fine in SP1. Thank you in advance for your help! Best regards, Vesa
