Hi Matt : Looks OK , but , to me the important thing (whenever I see work like this) is "how you did it" . Doesn't matter to me if there is shadow or if it's a snail smoking a cigar , the only thing that matters (to me) is if there is an explanation of what steps were taken , what snags were encountered , what new discoveries were found , what mails were sent to Realsoft about bugs or feature requests . You mention several methodologies in making this . In the first one you said "movement of the flowers is done by 'Velocoity' ... (OK , I'll bite) so what do you mean by that ? You mention "Many lattices to bind them all on the robot (Cables, damper, ...)" . Again , you are talking about the method you used , but what is the relevance if there is no explanation included ? You mentioned "UV mapping" and several other things too, but no clues as to how you used them , if you used other S/W's , if the information is in the manual (etc etc etc) I could have easily posted "nice flower , I like how he smiles and winks" , but what good would that do fellow animators who are looking at this from a technical point of view ? Animating with RS3D (and probably all other 3D CGI S/W) is a job for a technician , not an artist . You are obv- iously using advanced technical tools to accomplish this animation , and to me , that is the most important part , but it is also the part that is totally missing from this thread . I admire the RPL-like posts , the Timo-like explanations, but if nothing is shared , and nothing is learned , then exactly what is the point ? Cards held to the chest ... words mumbled in passing , jargon bandied back and forth. If nothing is shared , and nothing is learned , then Midget Britneys have identical importance . IMHO garry > http://bild-frei.org/rs/newflower-swf/ > > updated... walk should be more visible now. > The anim between the "steps" is not smoothed, > that's the reason for the "tap, tap, tap, tab" look. > It's only a test....(and a flower) > The anim should show more or less, what's possible > with some ours of work, and that RS can be used for > animations in many ways. > > Matthias
