It's reverse mo-cap maybe :-)

But it's the modelling thing I'm keen on.

  Hi,

I do own Synth Eyes. The manual spends a short notice on this issue. I never
tried it though.

As soon as I've got some spare time I'll check the feature.

I did use such 3D points before, to be able to place 3D objects in a 2D
video, but not for modeling.

  Arjo.

Hi again List, Arjo and Chris,

It seems to me that you would only need to make a wire frame cube - an actual
one - around a head for example, and the software reference would be more than
enough to extrapolate perspective corrections and therefore nail the points in
3D space. I'm guessing how it works of course.

Not exactly mo-cap but for one-off object modelling reference it might be
useful.

I doubt if video is necessary ... a sequence of digital camera snaps should
do it ... and if they didnt then just make a vid of the snaps.

The YouTube take was posted August 2007. The university would probably be
closed for holidays right now. I've posted them a request to keep me in the
loop for notices of developments ... at present a beta.

I'll post anything that looks useful to the list.

    Thanks for the link Neil,

We currently use Photomodeler, but this looks far superior.

      Maybe it's old news.
