Hi Arjo,

I'm a bit late, but I do like your road animation.
Hope you got paid well for it, Rijkswaterstaat (if they are your client)
have more than enough to spend.

Hi Vesa,

About the CAD drawings: your method of a high res. screendump emphasizes the
need for good, accurate im- and export once more. Apart from the scaling
problem a screendump of a cad drawing is a dead end street for a client.
To be able to compete with collegues who use Max/Viz and who have flawless
exchange of cad drawings between their 3d app and the cad program I often
find myself re-doing the 3D project in Autocad, just to give the client an
accurate representation of my work. The high res. screendump from Realsoft
is a nice backdrop in Autocad, but needless to say that making a cad drawing
from scratch is an awfull lot of extra work.
A reliable DXF export filter would be manna from heaven. No need to support
textures, text, lights etc, "just" object geometry.

Onderwerp: measure object with high resolution print

Hi,

A week ago I had to draw a plan in a cad like manner. So I thought I should
use the measure object to show measures inside the drawing.

The only problem was how to get a hires image for printing the plan.

Vesa gave me a very good tip for creating such a view window.

So I thought I should share it in here, it might come handy to someone else
too.

Attached you can see the result.

- Open a new Float window from Available GUI objects\}Window tab

- From the same tab, activate the Window tool. Set type to Scrolled. Drag &
drop the Window tool icon to the opened float window.

- Switch to App Window tab and drop a View to the new float window.

- Create a new View Model object called as 'Hires View'. Set its options as
you wish, and set Canvas to GDI, not OpenGL..

- In the Camera tab of the View model property gadget, set Fixed size and
enter e.g. w=2000, h=3000.

- Save the project (maybe as startup)

Now you can use View popup/Render/Save to file menu of the new hires view to
create high resolution wireframe screenshots.

Arjo.
