Hi Henry, click on the "pivot point" then:
press "r" for rotate ;-) or press "m" for move, default action ;-) Then select "handles" from the dropdown (see attached image) "re-align" (normalize is a v6 feature, if I'm right) but you can set all values to zero via "properties window" and move the curve in "point-edit-mode" hope that's helpy, Matthias BTW: Pivot is ok, or cog (center of gravity) BTW2: RS is working hierarchically !!!! <----important, really (more or less ;-)First rule: An object is positioned relative to it's parent (object or level) AND
get's properties from the parent. Second rule: It's possible to break the first rule, (overriding values, for example: object material), but the first rule is always the first rule. @ Zaug: Halflings leaf :-)----- Original Message ----- From: "Henry Tjernlund" <[email protected]>

I'm still having issues with curve alignment. The one technique described for placing a circle perpendicularly at the beginning of a curve seems to only work of the limited case of a curve that was originally constructed as an open curve, and has not been modified in certain ways. On a closed curve the pivot point (I hope that is the correct term) is in the center of object. Even when the closed curve is opened (via cutting, or whatever.) Also, when a curve is duplicated in certain ways the pivot point seems positioned and aligned to the Universe and not the curve. Or, when a curve is modified the pivot point no longer aligns to the first two points as when it as first created. Is there a way to "re-align" the pivot point of a curve. I can change the pivot points position easy enough, (although I still get some offset point snapping results when I try to snap the pivot point to various places along the curve or even to the opposite endpoint) but I haven't yet seen how to rotate the pivot point. And even then, is there a way to match the rotation of the pivot point to the start (or any point along) the curve?
One thing I want to do is to make a curvy tube that smoothly changes diameter. I know that there is a bi-rail tool, but it seems I've had trouble getting that to work the way I want. -- -- Henry Tjernlund http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?username=henrytj http://www.modelmayhem.com/HenryTjernlund http://imdb.com/name/nm2519729/ http://www.myspace.com/henrytj http://henrytj.deviantart.com/
