Hi Julie,
If you installed Magnolia with the samples option
(magnolia.bootstrap.samples, which is true by default), you should
have a sample "public-user-registration" page available in your
repository. Go to http://localhost:8080/magnoliaPublic/public-user-registration.html
and you should see a registration form. Fill it in, and this should
create a user in the "public" realm of the users workspace on the
*public instance*.
