Thanks for the info. EE only you say and it will stay EE only? So it's
no waste of time if the community starts to build one for the CE too?
Because there's no doubt about it that Magnolia needs this if we want
to be able to compete against the PHP guys...

Dear Magnolians
After not getting any answers to my last two technical questions I
thought I should post a features-related question for a change ;-)
A few months ago I was told that Magnolia 4.x would feature an
asset management system.
See the info.magnolia.module.templatingkit.dam package. This might
move to an independent module (i.e out of stk) at some point in the
future.
This would be highly desirable - all our customers are telling us
that the Joomla/Typo3/Whatever CMS would have this feature. What we
would need:
1 Automatic generation of preview images
- Supporting at least JPEG, GIF, PNG and PDF files
- Arbitrary size
- Good quality
imaging module. Currently available in EE.
(no pdf support though)
2 Crop tool to create clippings of pictures
- GUI (something like http://tools.uvumi.com/crop.html)
- Configurable for fixed width, height or ratio
That has existing since a while as the "imagefiltering" module,
which has been entirely rewritten into the imaging module mentioned
above; am actually reviving the user-selected cropping functionality
into this new module as we speak. (imaging module currently has
automatic/"smart"/ cropping features already.

So for those familiar with the subject: Will there be a Magolia
Asset Management? If so when? And with which features?
Thanks.
