Hey, no probs, just if something doesn't work for you it is usually
useful to look around and try to search for the problem ;)
When looking I'd recommend two main sources - archives of this list and
then search on the http://documentation.magnolia-cms.com The search
there is customized google search that looks over all resources on
documentations server, on wiki and in jira.

If you really followed all the steps from the page it should work. It
does for me. While re-reading your description of what you have done, I
could not see you mention enabling the i18n support on your Magnolia
server ... that might be the reason why it doesn't work for you. The
instruction on how to do it is on the page as well, but just in case
here it goes again:
"enable i18n content support by setting
{{config:/server/i18n/content.enabled}} to {{true}}'

BTW, once you get this working, feel free to update or extend the page
to clarify or highlight the things you straggled with to make it easier
for anybody else who would try afterwards.
