Thank you Ruben and Jan,

that was the missing idea.

the forum list has to reference a page with a thread list paragraph (just create a subpage for your forum list page that contains the thread list paragraph). Same for the threadList paragraph, it news a link to the page for threadview and threadnew page.

The paragraphs use the uuid to select what has to be shown but that's all you need.

If you still have problems in the public instance with the whole thing, make sure you have the correct user rights set - if the anonymous user does not have the right to see the forum then you're out of luck. It also may be easier to only manage the forums in the public instance instead of the author instance and then publish.

http://{yourserver:port}/magnoliaPublic/.magnolia/pages/ adminCentral.html allows you to log into your public instance...

Hi Jan,

this was an older thread ;-) I found while I was searching along in the emails, having the same problem as Dennis. I followed your description. But now I am a little bit confused. I know how I integrate paragraphs (written some for my own) But consider I use the demo-project, add i.e. "Thread view" as paragraph.

I do not get the link in the edit page to a Forum I introduced in the "Forums" section of the Admin - Pages.

Uh, oh ... don't remember from top of my head, but I think the paragraph
action/model is looking for either uuid or name of the forum to
display ... you would have to check to code ... or maybe someone else
knowns that by heart?

Jan

I think I do not understand the workflow (the idea) you and others thought about, when programming the forum module in 4.1.

Any idea how to get out of my brain-puzzle?

Hi Dennis,

there are no sample pages for the forum at the moment, but there are paragraphs ready for all the things you need to create, maintain and use
forums.
Use forumList paragraph to list existing forums and to create new ones. Use threadNew paragraph to create new thread in any particular forum, use threadList paragraph to see all the existing threads in given forum,
use threadView paragraph to preview the content of given thread and
use threadReply paragraph to post a response on given thread in given
forum.

Hi there again,

I’m still playing around with magnolia 4.1 community edition and stk
1.1.1,

I just wanted to try out the forum module but I noticed, that there is no article / page type I can select which implements the forum pages…
so, simple question: how to implement it? :D

Thanks, Dennis
