Your first optional advice was best for me. I imported the xml file of
the demo project again to change the wrong references afterwards. Thank
you for this simple idea. ;)

Happy that worked ;-)

I was not able to follow your third advice. How can one alter an
existing but wrong reference? magnolia is offering very nice features,
but when it comes to freemarker errors, there is no way to correct
errors directly like altering the broken reference. For example, when
linking to an image file that is not availabe. Is there something I
still do not know?

Sorry, I thought that you still could edit magnolia pages with green bars.. if you can not see any green bar, it is impossible to fix, unless you proceed by Website JCR browser (under Tools, first menu item). In this browser you can edit (almost) what you want; in your case you can save a working uuid, open Website JCR browser, find the paragraph where the broken link is and update the reference, replacing the uuid.

Again, thank you for your kind help.

Ask and obtain ;-)
Have a good day!
