what about to take the advantage of Jackrabbit's consistencyCheck ?
It should be able to report those missing references, unfortunately
consistencyFix is able to fix only missing children, but not missing
references, and specially not problems caused by missing versions.
But at least you receive the complete list of affected references
so you don't have to find it by your own ;)
