You are right there is no useful documentation for this module, also,
seems that old samples have not been removed

Where I looked for info and what I've tried so far:

- Points to "Tools" > "Mail" page with zero additional info
- "Tools" > "Mail"
- "Text message configuration" worked
- "Template message configuration"
- Template "test-magnolia-no-parameter"
- Failed with error message: Error on line 1: The element type
"HR" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "".
- Where is that referenced template that the system is claiming
to retrieve from "magnolia:http://localhost:8080/magnoliaAuthor/mails/noparam.html

- Again: Where can I find the template?
This two templates come from 3.6.6 sample, should be removed from this
version. Error is because it does not find anything. You can create
the pages directly in the mentioned path. (http://jira.magnolia-cms.com/browse/MAGNOLIA-3221
they will be removed)

It is loading the file from the web-inf/classes, you can change the
path in the template configuration
- Template "testFreemarker"
- Failed with error message "Error: Expression user is undefined
on line 1, column 7 in testFreemarker.html." (apparently the
instruction "${user}" is causing the trouble)
- Again: Where is the template file? Where do I have to place my
template file in order for it to be found by the mail module?
in this case loads the file from the resources path either in the jar
or web-inf classes.
- "Html page configuration"
- Failed with "Error:
null" (info.magnolia.module.mail.commands.MailCommand : Could not
send email:null)
In this case you have to select a page, there is a bug when processing

- Googling for "magnolia-module-mail" did not return anything useful
either
