Hi Nils, I don't like maven. I find it adds a lot of complexity, with few benefits not offered by a combination of good old Eclipse + Ant.
My beef with maven is basically that it takes a lot of time to set everything up, and in the end you're still always fixing this or that in your poms, or creating local repos for JARs that aren't available, or not available in the right version. It gets in the way of working quickly. However, I have to add I'm also a "lone" developer in my current projects. If I were in a large team, with continuous integration, build servers and other associated infrastructure (and more developers to maintain it all!), things would be different, and I'd probably recommend maven. I also appreciate this is a bit of a religious issue, a bit like the question whether you should use Eclipse or IntelliJ (or Linux vs. Windows) - so I don't mean to offend anyone. If you like maven, and find it works for you, that's great.
