The thing is, it's the PUBLIC instance that's not starting. I have access to 
the AUTHOR instance. So how would I search for a node that, apparently, has 
been deleted?

Does the error, "can't read index of the node [ExtendingContentWrapper for 
config:[]]", mean that it's a config node that was deleted? I don't remember 
deleting any config nodes.

I've tried the following in JCR Queries:

select * from mgnl:contentNode where uuid = 
'e27113b4-39f1-42b2-a8d1-9ac1191de722'

... using both the config and website repositories, nothing is returned.

It seems that the link you sent me, and the Groovy Rescue Servler, are to get 
AUTHOR up and running so you can "fix" the config. But I have AUTHOR running 
... I'm just not sure how to fix config, or if it's even config that is broken.
