Boy oh boy! How many editors are we talking of? Have you tested a single instance setup? I somehow have a hard time believing that a clustered setup will help much for editing. And to be honest, I also have a hard time believing that a strong single instance setup will be insufficient. But then again... I really don't know your specific requirements.
