yes, set the activation filter in your filter chain back to ReceiveFilter class and set the Syndication impl back to SimpleSyndicator (easiest done by declaring it in your module descriptor similar way magnolia-module-exchange-simple does or by removing magnolia-module-exchange-transactional (after you have changed the filter))
