It sounds like you're downloading a pre-built version of Magnolia. I think that the shop module has not been updated for compatibility with Magnolia 5 yet. At least, when I tried to install the shop module on Magnolia 5 it failed to deploy. Try [url=http://sourceforge.net/projects/magnolia/files/magnolia/Magnolia%20CE%204.5.9/]downloading Magnolia[/url] [url=http://sourceforge.net/projects/magnolia/files/magnolia/Magnolia%20CE%204.5.9/magnolia-tomcat-bundle-4.5.9-tomcat-bundle.zip/download]4.5.9[/url] instead.
To install a module on the pre-built Magnolia, you [url=http://store.magnolia-cms.com/module-list.html]download[/url] the jar ([i][url=http://nexus.magnolia-cms.com/content/repositories/magnolia.forge.releases/info/magnolia/shop/magnolia-module-shop/1.1.2/magnolia-module-shop-1.1.2.jar]magnolia-module-shop-1.1.2.jar[/url][/i] in this case) and drop it into the [b]apache-tomcat-6.0.32/webapps/magnoliaAuthor/WEB-INF/lib[/b] and the [b]apache-tomcat-6.0.32/webapps/magnoliaPublic/WEB-INF/lib[/b] directories (yes, copy the single jar download to BOTH places. If you have already started and "installed" magnolia, then it will detect the new JAR and ask to install it. If you haven't started this copy of Magnolia before, then it will install with the rest of the normal install process. Easy-piesy lemon squeezy. If you are a Java developer, I would recommend not using this pre-built version of Magnolia. Instead, you can create a project using Maven and include dependencies on modules you want to install in the POM. It makes things a lot easier (as a developer).
