Hi Remo, the Pulse is basically Admincentrals messaging hub - so it is available on public instances as well. Behind the scenes it's using info.magnolia.ui.framework.message.MessagesManager to send messages to users known by the system or to retrieve messages for them.
AFAIK nobody came up with your idea before and I don't have a good picture about your requirements but the more I think about it the more I get the impression it's really worth a try: If you e.g. wanted to do it from a form processor you could try to retrieve the MessagesManger via IoC and use it to send messages. Likewise e.g. model classes could check via MessagesManager if there's messages to be displayed for the current user.
