Hi Andrew, can you elaborate a bit? You downloaded a fresh Magnolia 5.3 CE, unzipped it and tried to install and start it from console as described e.g. at http://documentation.magnolia-cms.com/display/DOCS/CE+on+Mac+OS+X? When exactly does the error occur? On which OS are you? Which servlet container?
