If waiting a little longer doesn't work, check out the log files in magnoliaPublic to see if anything went wrong during initialization (deployment).

Having too little memory devoted to java can cause failure to this process. Anyway, the log should tell us what the problem is.

Hi Rainer,

Did you wait until the tomcat bootstrap was over ?
It takes about 10 good minutes to bootstrap magnolia the very first time you start the server.

Any start thereafter is then really quick.

Hope this helps,

Dear all,
  I am new to Magnolia.

I have problems to use the publicMagnolia site on my installation.

Windows XP
Tomcat/5.5.9
Java SDK 1.5_04

I have placed the .war files of magnoliaAutho and magnoliaPublic and
uploaded them with TOMCAT namager. Tomcat created the directories and I can
see the application in the TOMCAT manager.
magnoliaAuthor works perfectly. However, when I want to see magnoliaPublic I
get

http Status 403
type Status report
message
description Access to the specified resource () has been forbidden.

I also tried to open

http://127.0.0.1:8080/magnoliaPublic/.magnolia
but this reulted in the same message.
