okay I tried that with the index.dat file and now it works fine!
What is this index.dat file doing?

activate it back to the author instance (or copy the repository files

But please make BACKUPS! This is very important since jackrabbit is
not yet final and still can crash!

I have a lot of important things in this repository, is there a
