Very interesting stuff Giancarlo. One question that Robert had that I am
also still curious about is what flavor of Berkley DB is being used (DB 4.3,
DB XML 2.1, or DB Java Edition) with 2.1.1?

I think it is DB Java Edition 1.7.1, but cannot tell for sure.

By reading the changelog of 2.0.83 I consider that an upgrade should be considered in the near
future. I know that the berkley support comes along with jackrabbit and that the above changelog
contains also 9 points about API changes, but I think we should push for it ;-).
