I'm actually trying to customize the tomcat error pages via the ROOT directory. I have error pages setup in magnoliaAuthor and magnoliaPublic but those do not affect the tomcat error pages located at the ROOT context.
I'd like to get a hold of a hierarchyManager as well as some other goodies located in magnoliaPublic to use in error pages that would reside in ROOT. Do you want to configure an error page for the author instance or for the public instance? (In the later case, you should configure it the the public application web.xml).
