This is a very interesting discussion you guys have started here, one
that I've started on several occasions with Boris too. Every decent
CMS nowadays is capable of integrating web-apps in one or the other
way. I'm sure this would be feasible with Magnolia too, but as you
noticed yourself in the past few posts: There are a few key questions
to be answered first.
Why do you not open an issue on jira and get a vote for it, then? Or
look for cooperation with other SI's to develop it together?
I personally think, a well planned technique to integrate web-apps
into Magnolia is a far more important feature that for instance
integrating a workflow engine. Unfortunately I'm not knowledgeable
enough to come up with the answers to these questions and I'm afraid
that people more knowledgeable than me are rather scared away by the
"partner program" than attracted.
Well, if you have not noticed we have recently added a new partnership
level called "supported partner", and lowered the barrier of entry to
our partnership program by 75% (no certified devs needed for the
"supported partner" and the partner fee is 1250 USD + 1250 support
contract per year)
partner FAQ see [1]
partner contract details see [2]
I can just say that in the past we have given some significant leads to
our partnes - examples of leads we provided:
- the US Military
- Lockheed Martin
- the University of Berkley
- the Spanish Government
Unfortunatley there are still many countries for which we have no
partners, and we get a lot of requests specifically asking for a local
partner, which we cannot fulfil.
I have tried to make the partner programm as attractive as possible -
if you disagree please send me a note and let me know what you expect
instead in a partner programm.
