I totally agree with you... and so will probably every enterprise level customer. The SMB customers on the other usually don't have the ability to buy "peace of mind" for $10k/year.

Its not about price but about value.

Nice! I like that one. And I think you're right.

If Magnolia is of no value o an SMB, there is no point in trying to lower a price. We would instead have to increase value.

Finally, for non-profit organization the pricing of the Enterprise Edition is simply out of the question.

You mean the red cross (as an example) can't afford 10k a year? I wonder how they pay for their airline transports? Or their car fleet? Their employees?

The Red Cross is for non-profit organizations what Novartis is for businesses. Again: Most of us are not lucky enough to be developing for those kind of organizations.

Exactly. The real world consists of millions of SMBs with a very limited budget which carefully have to look at what they are spending their money on. Again:
- I think the price tag for Magnolia Enterprise is fine
- I think it's great that there's a free version with limited features
- I think Magnolia is the best CMS when it comes to ease of use
- But believing that you can sell a Magnolia Enterprise license to the standard SMB (which usually has a _total_ marketing budget lower that 10k) is very brave.

Welcome to the real world, Boris.
