Hey Franz,
Once bootstrapped, a regular magnolia app is using very little
memory. The only memory increased I am seeing here is while doing
activation from the author instance to the public instance.
Otherwise, the latest magnolia are very memory effective.
256Mb is usually enough for both author/public instance.
However, give it some memory space, so it can survive a memory
consuming activation request. (I hope I can discuss that at the
Magnolia conference next month, it looks like the filtering done
while activating is using some memory, even though we are streaming
the data from the author to the public)
About the jars, I am convinced you can move most of the jar into the
shared/lib but do NOT move the magnolia ones, since they're using
some static shortcuts for initializing and loading modules.

Is this also recommended for magnolia CMS when several magnolia
webapps are deployed in one tomcat?

directory for this?
