We have a few users in 3.0RC2 currently. While it's generally very solid,
and even more so running something other than Derby (we're using BDB, as per
several people's recommendation), there are a few outstanding bugs (linking,
caching) that are still causing us grief. All of these have already been
addressed in the nightly builds, but we're reluctant to put customers on
something other than an official release candidate, and have been holding
out hope for RC3. Unfortunately, our schedule may not allow us to wait that
long, so we're considering going ahead and deploying a nightly build so that
we can get those bug fixes in place.

If I were in your shoes and had the flexibility to do so, I'd wait just a
bit longer for RC3 and the fixes that are in it.
