But as a friend of mine said "Why don't you do it? That's why it's called OPEN source" :)

There is a threshold from beginner to template developer.
I started in feb 06 and here is how I did it:
- Read up on jsp tags.
- Use the sample templates to mess around.
- Read the user and developer doc's. Don't try to learn all of it. Just get a overwiev and try some stuff.
- Use Eclipse and Ant for development.
(Post your email and I'll send u my small, custom ant script for template dev.)

Use the wiki and jira.
The wiki is quite helpfull.

Web app -> Magnolia app
There is a lot that can be done here.
If you are using the MVC modell any layer of the web app can be intergrated.
Can u describe the web app?
