Hi list.
I thought I'd do a follow up on my previous issue (see first mail
below). In a nutshell :
- Download 3.0 wars on source forge, delete the repositories/magnolia
folder on Public and Author instances
- Bootstrap the webapps (weither with the bundle tomcat or your own)
- Create and activate a table paragraph : the table on public instance
loses its rows and columns (aka looks a mess).
If you ask, the reason why I bootstrap the instances from scratch is
because I use MySQL as the repository for this project, and this
requires a bootstrap to work.
This weekend, I tried it again, and on my own Mac (G4 powerbook, up to
date Tiger and MacOS J2SE 5) and it worked fine.
So I tried it again this morning on my XP box (XP SP2 / Sun JDK
1.5.0_09), and it still doesn't work here. And I notived the same
behavior on a linux box, but I'm not sure of its specifications.
So I think it'd be worth the time if someone could check that out on its
box... It really only is a 10 minutes thing top, and well, if this is a
Magnolia bug we need to reproduce it (and a bug like this is well above
my skills to track), and if it is not, I'd be gratefull to understand
what goes wrong.
Happy monday to all,
G.

Hello list,
I've been testing 3.0 Final for deployment and I encountered an issue
that I can reproduce with the SourceForge bundle version, as well as
Wars only version (fresh download from today). On Magnolia's default
samples templates or on my owns. With Derby or MySQL as a persistant
repository. I'd like anyone with time to confirm the behavior if
possible, and maybe identify if this is a bug or a glitch on my side.
The issue is as follow :
- Take a couple of fresh Author/Public instances
- Delete /repositories/magnolia
- Launch tomcat, which bootstraps your instances
- Create a multiline, multi coloumn (but nothing fancy needed) table
paragraph on Author side.
- Activate on Public
On my setup, the Public instance's table is a mess, as it looks like
tabs and carriage returns are not preserved (therefore having one
single <th></th> html output with all table content inline in it, no
other <tr> or <td>).
Default Derby configuration works fine out of the box, though. I guess
something goes wrong in the bootstraping process, but i'm really not
knowledgeable enough to understand what.
My current box is a WinXP SP2 / Sun JDK 1.5.0_09
Thanks for any help,
Guillaume.
