Hi Ben,

Please check this reply how to test this if you want to store blobs in berkeley.
http://webmail.magnolia.info/Lists/user-list/Message/8878.html

when you download EE for evaluation you have berkeley db persistence under add-ons/magnolia-bdb-1.0 you dont need any additional jar of you can configure your env according to the above instructions.

Hi Sameer.

We don't have one yet. I want to test that this works first. Who should
I speak with? (see below)

Hi Pascal.

The jar I'm referring to is the one Sameer Charles mentions in the
user list. Even using the EE version with BDB, I see a "too many files

open error." I'm hoping storing blobs in the database will fix this
problem, but I need to verify this is the case before we put anything
on Production.

Sameer,

We're testing EE 3.0 BDB and I'd like an update of the .jar you
mention for testing. Can you please send it to me at ben.brock at
markit dot com?

Thanks,

Ben

Hi Ben,

are you are using magnolia enterprise? if so you can contact magnolia
support we can build it for you.
if you are enterprise customer and have access to the enterprise SVN
then you need to change bdb.properties under resources

----- from bdb.properties --------------------- # blobStore can be
either db (database) or fs (filesystem) blobStoreType = fs

currently this is a compile time flag and cannot be changed later on
once built this property file is packaged with the jar under info/
magnolia/state/berkeley

Hope this helps

The Enterprise Edition instructions include the below step, but no
instructions on how to do so. I think this change may fix my "too
many files open" problem. Does anyone know specifically how/what to
change?

4. Set BLOB storage
        - by default all binaries are stored on file system for
performance reasons, but you can change this behaviour
and force binaries to store in berkeley database.
NOTE : This is a compile type configuration and must be
changed while building the connector and can
only be applied on an empty repository.

Thanks in advance,

Ben
