Hi list,

As you might have seen, we've been busy working on a forum module for Magnolia. It just reached a state where we think it's starting to be useable (not in prod, see further) and since we'll have to leave it aside for a short period of time now, we wanted to take and give the opportunity to interested parties to try it out.

It's currently dependent on Magnolia 3.1 snapshots, which have just been deployed on our Maven repository [1], so please note this is not- even-alpha, no supported and subject to (lots of) changes until 3.1 is released. (Also note that if you have a 3.0 instance, it's very likely to be breaking if you just install 3.1 on top of it, since we have no upgrade process for 3.1 yet)

If anyone cared to try it, please go ahead, read the notes and install. [2] We'd be very glad to get some feedback, ideas, suggestions, questions or remarks about this. Of course, as you'll see, it's only a part of the iceberg and much is left to be done (error/validation handling, public user registration, moderation, ...), but the basic concepts are already there (in code or in comments;)). As always, the door is also open for contributions !

Please let us know what you think !

Cheers,

greg
