Hi Werner, try to activate the nodes via the JCR-Browser (because you were abled to config the workflow, i assume that you have the rights to do so). There is no need to config the workflow. This of course is not the usual way, but i think that will fit your needs. With this beautiful AJAX-interface (greets to the magnolia staff ;-) ) you can rightclick one node and select activate with subnodes from the contextmenue. Doing so, you avoid the whole inbox thing. I hope, that i got you right and that this hint is helpful.
