About VPNs: latest release of openssh (4.3_p2) allows VPN creation over the SSH protocol; I couldn't test it since I had it only on the host machine and tunneling with the same host on both endpoints (what I tried) doesn't work - I went to bed before deciding to install it in UML and play with it and forgot; and I must say it was fairly easy to setup. 2 pitfalls. * the syntax for pointopoint interfaces is slightly diffenent in Linux than the one that man ssh suggests (it's using OpenBSD syntax I guess) * you must login as root for initial testing, otherwise after ssh logins it can't do the needed network setup. That can be lifted as explained in the man page with authorized_keys (you allow selected users to login as root just to run some commands, i.e. the VPN creation one); but for testing root login gives you almost 0-setup VPNs. -- Inform me of my mistakes, so I can keep imitating Homer Simpson's "Doh!".
