Hi all This is a sever piece of embarrasment... Proves that these things should be be done when one has only 3 hours sleep in 48 hours! I made a simple little error in the automated boot script. Instead of issueing:
....linux mem=256M ubd0s=root_fs ubd1s=swap_fs....... My script did the following: ....linux 256M ubd0s=root_fs ubd1s=swap_fs....... The UML system run with 29M of memory and so, the lager packages cuased the UML fall over. There simply was not enought memory. This brings my to another question that I will post shortly. I sorry for having wasted your time on this. Thanks for you help Gerhard -----Original Message----- From: Jyrki Jaakkola [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, 25 November 2006 8:37 AM To: [email protected] Cc: Buggy Code Subject: Re: [uml-user] Stack Over flows Hello! I had a problems with apt-get doing segfaults and they were caused by corrupted cache files. Maybe it's same with you. You could try removing /var/cache/apt/pkgcache.bin and /var/cache/apt/srcpkgcache.bin and then running apt-get update. I hope this helps you.
