Folks, First, congratulations to the Castor team on the 1.0 release!
Second, congratulations to the Castor team, you guys rock. This requires a little explanation: One reason I was looking forward to this release is that our use of Castor is predicated on the idea that we won't need to be dependent on XercesXMLSerializer, or more specifically on the Xerces jar. There's apparently some subtle conflict in the production software here that will make it difficult to include Xerces. Thankfully, 1.0 is here like clockwork and the Xerces dependency appears to be removable. So I read the release notes and then I started to prepare this post to ask for a few clarifications. Then I did some googling to make sure I was asking the right questions and found that most of my questions were already answered in the customer serializer how-to, and I also dug up the JIRA issue and re-read it (URLs below) and found that the rest of my questions were answered. You guys rock :-). http://www.castor.org/how-to-implement-custom-serializer.html http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-1273 Btw, you might want to include the howto link in the release notes.
