David,

Yes, it does relate to http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-1342, indeed. In
other words, whilst we do have an appreciation of the problem at hand, we are
currently short of time, to be honest. I think the Jira issue even talks about
a possible solution.

In other words, we could use a little bit of help if you wanted things to be
dealt with in a faster way. Either you happen to have some time at your
disposal, and supply us with a patch that we can take and integrate (test)
easily, or somebody is willing to come up with some funding that enables us to
dedicate considerably more time to Castor (as it would decrease the importance
of some other dependencies).

I hope I am not being to honest here ....

Regards
Werner

Betreff: [castor-user] Castor and Hibernate proxy problem

> Hello ,
>
> I am having a problem with castor's marshalling of hibernate classes.
>
> Since Hibernate is using cglib, the actual class passed into my
> marshalling function is not getting correctly picked up and therefore not
> mapped,
> since the class name is similar but not exact (I forget the actual name
> format ).
>
> I don't have this problem with Hibernate 2, which I am still using (and
> would rather not)
>
> It seems like all this would take is a modificaiton to the name of the
> class that is being matched prior to marshalling. so instead of matching
> contact, match contact*.
>
>
> has anyone encountered this (would seem like a univeral problem) or is
> there a work around anyone knows of.
>
>
>
> I believe this relates to castor issue 1342
