Simi,

I think this should have worked for an eternity already, and I think I have been using varchars of length greater than 500 in several projects with Castor JDO myself.

What is the exact behaviour you are seeing ? What does the field mapping in question look like ?

Regards
Werner

Using JDO ORM, database field type varchar(500) mapped

Sybase now allows varchar much larger than 250.
Has anyone found that reading longer than 250
varchars with string causes truncation at 250 chars?
The update works fine however. Should it be necessary to use text fields with
JDO(which are not efficient) even though db allows
bigger varchars?
thanks for pointers -Simi
