If how accomplish a JPam to LDAP interface is still giving you trouble, it
looks like this section of documentation may be useful:

Basically you need to edit a conf file (net-sf-jpam) included in the JPam
distribution to use LDAP and then copy that file into /etc/pam.d

As you edit that file, you'll need to know where your Linux distribution
keeps its pam_ldap.so file. Check out the article for the format of the
conf file and the options.
