Almost certainly. I think the issue here is that one or two people
need
to take ownership of "The JavaDoc Task Problem" and fix it :-)
Step 1 would be to set up a JIRA issue.
I haven't tried exactly what Tom proposed in his reply, but
something very
similar is what produced the error I included in my original post.
Javadoc
seems to have some sort of issue with my assigning that directory
as a
srcDir. I'm hoping that flipping the above flag will resolve the
issue.
I haven't actually done any research on the source code yet (I will
see
if I can take some time on it tomorrow), but I don't see why Gradle
can't just provide a thin Adapter (or, if necessary, Façade) to the
JavaDoc Ant Task. Of course, I may be missing something obvious...
That is what we are currently doing. But the layer is too thin ;) When
I have created this task, I had just no time to create an option class
like we do for javac or groovyc. This is very straight forward to do.
