jclouds-dev has a thread on requiring Java 8 and Guava 21+. Guava has
proven to be a painful dependency for developers and users due to
jclouds use of beta and deprecated methods. Presently users can only
specify a few versions of Guava and no modern versions. In jclouds
2.2.0 we would like to require Guava 21 which in turn requires Java 8.
Unfortunately I do not see another way forward and this is an issue of
when not if. Any comments on this proposed change?
