Hi Ryan,
regarding Pax Exam, you are right. Starting from Pax Exam 3.0.4, all
it's directly in Pax Exam.

I agree with OSGi being a big one.
I also feel stability with 3.0.0 is quite good compared to most products
out of the gate. I've been playing with the nightlies and have have had
virtually no issues which to me is impressive.
The ability to create KARs from features is another big one I see on my end.
Oh, can't forgot the Pax Exam Karaf project which I've using exclusively
for unit tests with 3.0 (I'm assuming it started for 3.0 right?)
I need to learn about more about how the security and new diagnostics work.
Besides all that, wanted to say congratulations on getting the build out
with all the new features!!

Hi Christian,
interesting post. I would add some more reasons (like OSGi 5.0.0,
"all as services", etc) but I like the idea ;)

Just in time for christmas karaf 3 was released.
If you have not yet tried it, here are 10 reasons to check it
out now:

<http://www.liquid-reality.de/x/GgCU>
In short
1 External dependencies are cached locally now
2 Delay shell start till all bundles are up and running
3 Create kar archives from existing features
4 More consistent commands
5 JDBC commands
6 JMS commands
7 Role based access control for commands and services
8 Diagnostics for blueprint and spring dm
9 Features for persistence frameworks
10 Features for CDI and EJB
Btw. the list is in no particular order and I probably forgot
some of
the highlights :-)
What is your top 10 of the karaf 3 features?
Best regards
Christian
