Hi Cinto,

Do you used Kylin version 2.5+?
From these versions, cube planner is enabled by default and will decrease
cuboid numbers automatically.
For cube planner, you can see
http://kylin.apache.org/docs/tutorial/use_cube_planner.html

Lee

No, all the columns are normal, no derived dimensions. I had created derived
dimensions earlier, but dropped it for the latest build

Hi

Do you have any lookup tables? The type of dim in the lookup table is "Derived
Dimension" by default.
More details about "Derived Dimension" in
http://kylin.apache.org/docs15/howto/howto_optimize_cubes.html

I work at Apple and am planning to use Kylin for creating OLAP cube. I have an
issue and wanted to see if somebody could help. Not sure if this is the right
group though.

I set up a cube with 10 dimension (1 is mandatory). When I check the planner
section in Kylin webpage, I see 60 cuboids. Ideally, I was expecting something
around 2^9+1. Not sure where my understanding is wrong. I do not have any
hierarchy currently defined on this cube. Also, I set up this model on a hive
view.

What could be the reasons the no. of cuboids could be 60. I can share more
details if needed. Let me know.

Thanks
