I am not using mod_proxy. However, I do use squid at client and lenya works OK.

FYI: The solution was that the client/browser could not resolve via external DNS
the hostname of the lenya server, sitting inside NAT. Mea Culpa.

So now I'm off to try and move into production:
- publish my own publication(s)
- Look and Feel changes
- Adding fo2pdf support to the default document
