Thanks a lot. the latest instructions work all right. Its just that i'm
getting a couple of warnings (about some appenders and the log4j system(which
fil?? properties or xconf??)) when i run index-{pub}.bat. here's what i get:

..Can u tell me what to do to remove these warnings??
P.S: I think it would be better if you specify the paths (as you had earlier)
for all the files (xsls and xsps etc.) instead of the line:"Unzip this file
into your publication directory." A newbie like me could accidentally
overwrite the existing "config" folder (etc.) by unziping directly in the
{pub} directory. ;)
