Forrest seems largely to have been built to document projects (base
configurations require project name and the organization logo is optional). --
also, from what I saw, bending Forrest to the will of general CMS needs is
quite a bit more difficult... The recommendation seems to be "use one of the
existing layouts, don't try to make your own"

On an intranet, forrest can be used to easily publish news about a project,
documentation, releases etc. Whereas lenya is more apt to creation of your own
document types for any particular need.

Short answer: Lenya is designed to help you manage the content of a website;
Forrest is designed to help you focus on the content of a project-related
website. The logical distiction is that Forrest is more specialized for an
internal project.

When I say "project-related" I'm referring to a non-web project that is
currently underway... Many apache products are documented using Forrest; many
public websites are designed with lenya.

A bit wordy, but the distinction isn't easy to grasp at first, so I err on the
side of wordy.

project-specific management and logistics, whereas Lenya is geared towards
general web publication.

Subject: Forrest & Lenya

Hello group,

Please could you tell me what's the difference between Forrest & Lenya?

What is better for building an intranet, what could be the roll of Forrest for
an intranet

Thank you very much in advance
