Hello all. I need a bit of advice from those more informed than me:
I've got a site pretty much built in 1.2. Not many doctypes, and not
too much content, but it's poised to have a bunch of content (like 600
pages) added to it between now and february.
I now need to provide:
------
1. multiple example pages (the ability to choose from multiple default
pages upon creation of a specific doc type), exactly as a recent thread
discussed (see the thread: Lenya supports choosing templates when
creating new documents?). But it looks like the solutions were all for
1.4, correct?
It looks like I'll have to modify
org.apache.lenya.cms.publication.Publication if I'm going to get this
done in 1.2, or am I missing something?
------
2. Custom meta data, which I understand is also built into 1.4.
I haven't started in on this yet, so I don't know how hard it's going
to be.
-----
The question is, should I just start using 1.4? Will headaches of the
alpha version outway the headaches of building already built components
myself?
And which version? 1.4 alpha1? I grabbed the trunk version the other
day, but haven't tried to compile it yet. (redhat
linux/java1.5/tomcat).
Any thoughts on the subject would be most welcome.
Cheers and thanks,
-doug
