Hello,
I'd like to know whether Lenya has support for blogs and galleries like,
for example, Flux CMS (http://www.flux-cms.org/) has.
A blog is included in the standard distribution.
In version 1.2 or only in version 1.4?
In both versions.
A gallery is quite easy to implement. If you don't need special
features you can take a look at the cocooncenter publication
(http://www.cocooncenter.org/gallery.html). It doesn't allow upload
(because I don't need it), it just creates previews from a directory
of images.
Hmm, I actually look for something which allows you to provide titles and
descriptions for the pictures—in different languages and in arbitrary XML.
UI support for setting titles and descriptions and uploading the pictures
would also be nice. Is something like this planned for the future? How
difficult would it be to implement this?
1.4 contains a media resource type, which could be used as a starting
point. You can use custom meta data for the descriptions. You'd have to
implement a preview / overview page, which isn't that hard since 1.4
ships an SVG module which allows to scale images on the server side.
I think an experienced developer could develop a really nice gallery
module within a week, a crude one maybe in two or three days.
