Well, you can upload images. Asset upload in 1.4 is currently unstable
because the "old" asset upload (assets connected to page) doesn't work
(according to a bug entry) and the new resource module isn't fully
integrated yet (you can't include assets in pages in the editors).
I hope this will be fixed soon.
