To: Gremlin-users <gremlin-us...@googlegroups.com>

Hi everyone,

TinkerPop [ http://tinkerpop.com ] is proud to announce the Gremlin
0.1 XMas alpha release.

http://tinkerpop.com/docs/gremlin-santa.png

This distribution comes with connectors to Neo4j, Sesame SAIL, and
TinkerGraph. Please check the release notes [
http://wiki.github.com/tinkerpop/gremlin/release-notes ] and the known
bugs [ http://wiki.github.com/tinkerpop/gremlin/known-bugs ] before
using. All documentation on Gremlin can be found at http://gremlin.tinkerpop.com
.

Quick setup:

1. download gremin-0.1.zip from http://github.com/tinkerpop/gremlin/downloads
2. unzip and cd to the gremlin/ directory
3. run gremlin.sh (unix) or gremin.bat (windows)
4. follow the getting started tutorial at
http://wiki.github.com/tinkerpop/gremlin/getting-started

* NOTE: gremlin.bat has not been tested. Please report any issues with
this script (and a fix if there is an issue).

With the distribution comes both gremlin-0.1 jar and gremlin-0.1-
standalone.jar. The standalone has all the jar dependencies included.
There is also javadoc of all the Gremlin classes in gremlin/target/
site/apidocs .

Finally, this is an early release that has not been fully tested.
Moreover, with community feedback, there will be future developments
that will more than likely change many of the Gremlin function library
function names, updates to the General Graph Model, etc. etc. The
point of this release is to get early feedback to help shape the
Gremlin product for its next release.

Please enjoy and provide any feedback to this mailing list.

Take good care,
Marko A. Rodriguez
